Mark Peters is the Chief Executive Officer of Butterball Farms, Inc., the nation's leading producer of embossed and specialty butter and margarine for the hotel and restaurant industry. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Calvin College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Davenport University. In this talk, Mark discusses how a community based collaborative effort could provide reliable employment and ongoing development for individuals while reducing employer costs relative to employee turnover. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
