Sustainability is a major priority of all of the work we do here at Project Humanity. Long-term solutions only take root if they are sustainable and the locals own the solution. We are excited to announce that we will officially launch the Kibisom Youth Project "The Farm" in March of 2014. Our March Humanitarian Team will join in this launch and together we will bring another sustainability project online. Video Text: 0:00 Hi, this is Darren and I'm standing in Kiswanga where our friends at Kibisom have actually begun a sharecropping situation where 15 of the local boys have begun farming this little half acre plot together. 0:20 This is Mayor Michael and I'm in Kibisom Youth Group Farm. As you see the farm around you, we are planting varieties of seedlings around, including bananas and sugar cane. Me and my youth in the community, we are trying to develop this farm into the next thing to control food problems in the area. We will curb hunger and poverty and raise income from this farm. We are working together as one because farming needs effort, determination and focus. We are in for it. 1:06 They have a variety of vegetables and fruit, they have a fence up and a water source. Part of what our March project will be doing is coming right here and help out. When we talk about self-sustainability, we are talking about being able to produce and sell crops and use that money to pay for your living expenses. This is the first, the pilot, that our March team will be helping with. It's an exciting time because the most impressive part of the project is how excited the participants are. As you are preparing to come in March, throw in an extra pair of shoes and come out and do a day of farming with us. It's going to be an amazing opportunity
