Dr. David Conner of Michigan State University's C. S. Mott Group for Sustainable Food Systems produced five videos for NIFA-USDA on grant-funded hoophouse farmers in Michigan who used these passive solar greenhouses to extend the growing season. The Spencers of Pond Hill Farm in Harbor Springs use hoophouses to produce year-round product to build their brand. Their farm combines fruit and vegetable production with agri-tourism, including a Garden Cafe managed by their farm chef Scott Schornak. MSU Hoophouse Specialist Adam Montri offers insights into the challenges and opportunities. Video taped and edited by Newslink Associates LLC.
