The Michigan State Department of Natural Resources has outlawed feral pigs. They say that the now-illegal swine are considered invasive and, as of April 1, they can arrest farmers that own hogs that match nine characteristics described by the state. Mark Baker of Baker's Green Acres is one of two farmers in the state battling for the right to have feral pigs. Ignorant liberal bullshit. Nothing to see here. Trying to claim feral pigs isn't an enormous problem the country is facing right now is comical. There is no argument to be made here. Farm pigs are not feral pigs. So saying pig farmers can't have pigs is just intentionally lying to your viewers to get them upset. Farm pigs and feral pigs are two totally seperate things.

Those feral pigs all descended from domesticated hogs brought by Europeans here. So when a farmer re-domesticates then they're not feral any more!!! They're just looking for a reason to screw the little man so the big factory farm pork operations don't have any competition.

They're not feral if they are not free ranging and subsisting of their own accord. This man's pigs are limited to his farm and he feeds them. Hence they are domesticated. Feral and domestic do not refer to genetic background.

Pigs have been wild and indigenous in Europe since the ice age or before and it's an environment very similar to temperate regions of the U.S.A, They may have impact as any wild animal does. But there are management tools like hunting to keep them from becoming a serious problem. There are many families that could benefit from having much healthier wild pork to hunt and eat to reduce their grocery expenditure.

The pigs are only "feral" if they are free ranging wild animals. This man has them contained on his own farm. It's just like house cats are only feral they if they are free ranging and subsisting on their own. This is just like the classic case of super rich people trying to keep everybody else from having a quality life. It's the same scenario as the raw milk deal. The big corporations don't want the small farmers to be able to survive so they make sure that raw milk remains illegal.

Missy- you want to HELP the farmers like Baker? Simple. Boycott the mega corporations (MC). The majority of the MCs are listed on the stock exchanges or their parent companies are. Check it out, then don't buy any of their products. If enough concerned people did this after about two quarters of EARNINGS REPORTS, the MCs would get the idea...We the People don't really like their methods.
