Honor the past to understand the present and illuminate the future. Evidence of human presence in Boulder County dates back twelve thousand years, and Boulder County has heritage of prehistoric and historic places and artifacts. This program highlights the Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department's efforts to preserve and educate the citizens of the county about local history. Boulder County is working to safeguard prehistoric tribal campsites, mines and mills from the boom days, some of our first farms and ranches, and many culturally significant landscapes. You will learn about the Indian artifacts found at Carolyn Holmberg Preserve at Rock Creek Farm and the legacy of the gold, silver and tungsten boom. You will get a snapshot into life on a farm in "Little Italy" and will learn about some of Boulder County's pioneering families. The 21 minute program was produced by the City of Boulder's Channel 8 in 2005. Link to text transcript: http://www.bouldercounty.org/find/library/avtrans/poshisttranscript.txt
