Hi, I hope you can help me.
I am trying to grow a papaya tree in my backyard. I got the seeds from a papaya I bought at the market. The seeds sprout but they don't grow more than 1 or 2 cms tall. They don't develop further, I don't know what is the problem. I have tried using cow manure, fertilized soil, but it doesn't work. I live in the tropics. Thanks. -
Back in my country papaya was my favorite fruit but when I came to USA it tasted so bad, no wonder a lot of people in this country don't like eating fruits. My guess is that they pick them when they are aren't ripe enough or when green, they should leave the fruit to completely ripe in the tree.

Hello, I live in the Caribbean and have started growing papaya around the house, but definitely have a question. How long does the fruit take to grow in the tree before it is time to cut it down? I read somewhere that it is between 2 and 4 months, but I am not certain about the source. Any insight would be great. Thanks.

I was wondering if you can grow Papaya in north California???

Do NOT LIKE this OZ mass production of very unhealthy, wilting trees, UNRIPE fruits, picked way too early, AND......... given CHLORINATED water FFS!!!!! I live in Thailand, eat a large papaya bought red ripe at the local fruit stand. I throw the seeds literally out the window, some grow, the cooks eat the rest. Some seeds I keep and eat by the spoon full. Good for your immune system and protects against parasites. Hates western mass production. But hate more the cheek, calling their production GREAT!!!
