Jason Burack of Wall St for Main St interviewed returning guest, Grant Williams http://ttmygh.com/. Grant writes the popular investing newsletter, Things That Make You Go Hmmm. He also co-founded the new investor education company Real Vision TV https://realvisiontv.com/. Grant has over 20 years experience working in the financial industry and he's been a money manager and other jobs. During this 30+ minute interview, Jason asks Grant how bad things are in the global economy since he travels all over the globe often? Grant says the global economy has slowed down a lot and that the oil market is a major indicator. Next, Jason asks Grant a listener question about if Russia will go bankrupt because of the low oil price and if it will have to sell any of its gold. Grant thinks there's very little chance Russia or China sells any of its physical gold. Jason then asks Grant about the collapse in the oil market and emerging market debt problems and if he thinks the crisis is much larger than the sub prime housing bubble? Grant says there's a global debt problem and either of these things is capable of collapsing the asset markets and the real economy. Jason then asks Grant a number of WS4MS listener questions about whether the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates, the problems with GLD and about the survival and investment worthiness of gold mining companies. Grant says in his 3 decades of experience, he has never seen a more hated group of investments than gold miners. He thinks sentiment will change in the near future. This is ok if there were still the gold standard but that is almost as old as the ark. The return of the gold standard?, of what practical use would that be to all participants?
-
Oh yes it can be fixed. A quick look at the Roman empire will tell you that. All that is necessary is to recognise what the deficit really is and that it does not need to be paid down no matter how high it gets.
In the case of bonds they can be paid always with sovereign money. It is not possible for any country that has full control of its currency to go bankrupt. Any country that does that is just refusing to pay what they could very well pay and is inviting war!
The globe needs a money commision to examine the "paper" nature of currency and to stop keeping vast sections of populace artificially poor and of no use to the business that depends on their income, flush out the politicians who belong to a bygone age and lets have some realism. Business depends on consumer and political party depends on donations, and how much it can spend to its own wage and expenses from the sovereign pocket, so do not donate to any party who is not committed to ensuring a strong consumer either via waged income or unwaged income unless you are happy to watch the entire collapse of civilisation as a slow trainwreck! The unwaged world is almost upon us and old ways of managing are obsolete. -
Great show Jason, just started watching.
. Grant talks about" they have to let the banks fail". The banking oligarchs are in control of the government at this point. He has the same belief as Peter Schiff. Everything is done to benefit the banks and they will be protected on the backs of the taxpayer. -
INTEREST is a Bank imposed tax on the creation of counterfeit money. You want a car or a house? You need to pay tax-interest for an accept form of counterfeit money.

I feel this is a somewhat simple deal....if nobody works???then we can't buy goods and such....so that said we are an imbalance of the scales.......meaning we simply aren't making enough to spend on goods with real earned income creating debt to income wacked...resulting in a bad controlled living monitary climate. ..we live in a ever increasing debt society we both need things and want things...but somehow keep coming up short on the real cash in hand or enough cash in hand to buy things...the personal national debt rate is far ,far higher than the Federal national debt scope.

THE FED buys back with electronic $$ they wont stop buying ever they make the money its easy.

The lunatic fring saying the GLD has no gold ... the Trust is fully audited at least once, but I think twice a year. There are also spot audits through out the year. The website lists the actual gold bars. If I own Exon/Mobil I don't own actually oil ether, but that doesn't mean they don't have real oil reserves. The people who say the GLD has no gold are on the business of selling physical gold and don't like the GLD cutting into their business.

I wish the economy would crash and all humans would die. We humans are inherently evil and deserve death. In case this doesn't happen, I'm long equities and heavily leveraged.
-
Can you PLEASE get rid of the static in the intro. It's freaking annoying.

Nice catch Jason. Grant is a fantastic guest.

Interesting. I've heard USD bulls range from a 102-120 dollar peak on the USDX.

Have to remember university professors are civil servants and thus talking their book - pension
Vast majority of debt is in US dollar- likely see a major blow off spike for top many years from now. No where else to put trillions of money. -
Stockpile everything which you could possibly need for a Worldwide Economic Collapse! ( Don't forget lots of extra toilet paper! )
