To much talking through the part when listing to the detectors sounds was critical.

Getting one next week can it be used in shallow water or do i need a special coil? thanks

i have seen videos of the 305 and iam not impressed to many videos on the net that show that the machine wont detect rings and the guy went thru several rings. also noticed you are discounting the 305 are you discontinuing this model for the new machines coming out? a machine like this that wont find coins deeper than 5 inches is crap the garrett ace 250 does better than that. sorry minelab, not for me.

I think the video explained ground balancing a little better, but I'm still not one hundred percent clear on it. I like this detector for the most part, but I have noticed that an aluminum can alerted at the same conductivity number as a penny. Also, I have a piece of copper pipe that registered at 44.

Jack Smith....I brought a 705 and had no prob with the Quickstart instructions. Its a great detector. I then brought a 305 for a spare if I want to have a detect buddy. I found the 305 instructions harder to follow as you have to do a lot manually. The 705 has auto button and sets it automatically to the conditions.

I thought you explained the detetor quite well , I want a display but cant make up my mind between a x terra 305,505,705 or a garrett 1350 ??????????????????????? can anyone HELP

Gidday, saw your post. Are you local to North Canterbury? I just detected that Church in South Eyr Rd...found three silvers.

I got one for Christmas. I like it so far, with the exception that I only seem to find things within about 3" of surface. I am not likely going to find coins deeper than say 5" max. I'm not sure if there is a setting that I am missing of if I need a bigger coil for the depth. I will say the discrimination is great! I can usually guess what I am going to dig before I dig it and I have only been out twice. I have some trash items and good items in bags that I test it with and it is very cons

I got one .. It's great. First day out found 8 bottle tops , 2 fish hooks , stainless steel trace , a lead pea sinker and a 1$ coin. Lol. All in about 1 hour at a local boat ramp. Great fun.
