Unfortunately my Husbands family farm was sold when his Grandmother passed away. It recently came up for sale, but we don't have the credit rating to get a loan at the moment. We are working on getting that, so that we can try to buy the family farm. Unfortunately on that front time is our enemy. If it comes down to not getting it, we still want a small farm. He wants to get back to farm life, as his factory job is tearing him up. And we both want to become more self-sufficient.

no way to start a farm from scratch, my family farms about 5000 acres a lot of its rented, but even to buy minimal equipment and rent land would run you hundreds of thousands tractor sprayer combine planter anhydrous bar grain trucks augers sheds bins list goes on and on and when u buy cheap equipment its a constant struggle to keep things going . not to mention land goes from 300-500 bucks an acre to rent 80 acres at 300 bucks is 24000 a year. pretty impossible
