http://www.gpb.org/fast-forward/episode/georgia-olive-farms It's a little known fact that Georgia farms once grew olives. It was back in the 1800's. But it's becoming a much better known fact that this crop is making a comeback. Thanks to people like State Representative and farmer Jason Shaw, we learn why our state's climate is so hospitable to the olive, creating a whole new industry. And while we're visiting the southern side of the state, we take a ride on the Georgia Grown Trail to learn a little about agritourism.

I got to say that I love that the US is pressing their own Olive Oil, and that is because Italian Olive Oil is riddled with fake Olive Oil being imported into our country. It is said that billions of USD dollars are being lost to fake Olive Oil. My only concern is that when I went to the website for Georgia Olive Farms, I did notice that the price was at about $32 for 16.9 ounces. A 17 ounce bottle of (fake - which is why I am searching for a new supplier) EVOO is going for $8.00 in the supermarkets. Another not imported is at about $16 for 34 oz, but I think it might be fake because it smelled like grass or wheatgrass which not even olive leaf smells like grass. Yours just seems a little high even for imports, which it is not. Why is not the savings of being grown and pressed here in the US being passed on to the US consumers?
