We catch up with the Galusha Farms operation as they wind-row and bale newly cut hay. A Ford 6610 Tractor and a Kuhn GA 7302 DL Rotary Rake handle the wind-rowing chores. Then we switch locations to watch a New Holland 8670 Tractor towing a New Holland BC5070 Hayliner Square Baler followed by the interesting Model 100 Bale Band-it. The Bale Band-it takes small bales directly from the New Holland baler and combines them into a larger 21 bale bundle. The unit can unload on the go; ready to be stacked and hauled away. The field was cut with a New Holland HW365, shown in a video from last year. http://youtu.be/AQqAOPCRjv4 A few photos: http://basicbill.com/post/88195220405/balebandit Thanks to the Galusha Farm folks for their cooperation.

We've been using one since they first came out. Saves so much time and is so much more convenient. Worth the money too.

the bale band-it is an interesting labor saving machine...how do you collect the hay to put into the barn? Also that NH BC5070 looks like it can handle a good size windrow. Have you used other brands of balers?

I have a friend that makes high quality hay for horses and uses the same model of Bale Band It. As he explained to me, the reason he uses it is because it allows him to use less labor to put up the hay and allows the buyer to move the large bale into position and use hand labor to feed to the horses. Idk, how he explained it to me.

Would it be more economical to upgrade to a larger square baler?
