Simple modifications allow to use this basic mechanics for 1.11 with default entity cramming. Does the blaze farm work for console edition?

This actually helps me with an almost completely unrelated topic. I had been playing on a Skyblock server and I built a basic mob farm with a floor made of upside-down slabs, including the floor of the gap between spawning platforms where I put water. I had spawn-proofed the rest of my island, and no neighboring islands were spawning monsters. I also had a perfect AFK point. However, nothing left the spawner. I checked and there were plenty of mobs spawning, they were just not falling out. This video explains why. I had made the floor of the water-filled gap out of slabs, which are transparent blocks, so the mobs wouldn't move there.

Did it - in survival. Died once to a ghast, once to pigman (TNT blasting to clear fortress out), once in lava (lost everything :() and fell in to the spawner glass area twice but the second time I had enderpearls with me. Production is astonishing. Havent even managed to place all the cobble for them to migrate to and they are pouring in. I'll measure production later but it seems to be about a stack of blase rods every couple of minutes. Easy, excellent design. Gnembon - I'm a fan!

so seeing as how all mobs 'wander' could this be used for any mob (with changes due to the size/hight ect.)?

Wouldn't filling in the majority of that space with the same trapdoor set up still cause the blaze to pathfind through that corner? For example, filling in just the bottom of that 7 deep space and making only one viable path to those blocks through the corner with the trap doors.
Or does the giant cube of viable blocks have to be in an area toward the direction in which they are pathfinding? -
This is my first video and either the volume is too low or the accent is too thick. I can always turn down my volume but my volume is maxed for this video. I hope future episodes are louder.

Wait, what downsides are there to using that Witch farm? You said it runs at max efficiency and that you just need to block up other spawning spaces. That's much cheaper than your other witch farm that requires skeletons, packed ice, iron golems, rails and dispensers. Not to mention the added simplicity off not having to collect ~30 skeletons and test them.
