A tutorial on how to build a very simple and super efficient iron golem farm. Get ready to have (infinite) iron for days! This was built in Minecraft 1.8 and works perfectly (FYI, the iron golem not dropping iron is now fixed in the latest 1.8 snapshot). And yes, this does work in 1.7.4 on up. Use upside-down slabs for the second platform instead of full blocks for best results. Upside-down slabs occupy the top half of their block space rather than the bottom half. Place a slab upside-down, by right clicking the top half of the side of another block, if the player wishes to place it on the side of another double or single slab block.

I know this comment is late but does there have to be any glowstone, torches ect anywhere near the spawning platforms or do i just need to wait and see if it spawns?

I tried it it worked but the lava burnt the sign so i just kept killing it by myself and i can do the shift thing to attach the hopper to the chest cause i am nit on PC

Do you need to use glass for the villagers hold pen or do any kind of block will work?

On skyblock I have about 6-7 iron golem spawners that spawn iron golems nonstop. Any tips on how to make a tower that they fall through and die? Or something sortof like that?

I accidently built this with one of its corners in a snow biome so the water in that corner keeps freezing... anyway you can help?
