New Sewickley Township [Pike Compressor Station vs. Kretschmann Farm] UPDATE: On February 17, 2015, Beaver County Common Pleas Court denied the Kretschmanns of their appeal against the compressor station. Action TBA. UPDATE: On December 24, 2014, Beaver County Common Pleas Court heard the appeal against the approval of the compressor station. UPDATE: On October 28 and 29th, after the Zoning Hearing Board public hearings, the appeal -- challenging the substantive validity of Township Zoning Ordinance No. 162 and No. 194 permiting oil and gas development claiming they are unconstitutional and contrary to law -- has been dropped. Furthermore, the Township will now be re-writing the zoning ordinances. UPDATE: In September 2014, the Kretschmann's lawyer John Smith filed an appeal against the approval of the compressor station with the Beaver County Court of Common Pleas. TBA court date to follow. UPDATE: On Thursday, August 14th, 2014 New Sewickley Township Board of Supervisors (Vice-Chairman Ross Jenny, Supervisors Greg Happ, John Nowicki and Dave Yeck) voted 4-0 (with Chairman Duane Rape abstaining) in favor of the conditional use application of Cardinal Midstream for the Pike Compressor Station. ............... On July 23, 2014 New Sewickley Township, PA Board of Supervisors held a continuation public hearing to discuss concerns related to the issuance of a conditional use permit for the proposed Pike Compressor Station on Teets Road. Over 200 people came out to Big Knob Grange to hear officials speak from the gas companies Cardinal PA Midstream and PennEnergy Resources, and also to listen to the public's views and opinions. New Sewickley Township Board of Supervisors have 45 days from its private meeting held on Thursday, July 31st to decide whether or not to grant the permit.
