As Jamaica lifts its trade restrictions, foreign products flood the market. Despite saying their products taste better, research shows that ordinary Jamaicans would opt for lower-priced foreign alternatives due to its affordability. Such dependence subjects the country's food security and availability to various international factors and could lead to severe food crisis in the future.
