In the winter, the Black Angus are hungry in the morning. Feeding round bales is the only way to do this. I would like to thank the ranch for allowing me to fly this.

we used a bale truck did the first bale the same way you did your first one then grab the next one and do it again. tried to feed on the top of some small hills in the spring it would dry out there a little quicker than the flats and gullies.

This is the way of feeding I use in the winter, but with 300 head things get pretty sloppy in the fall and spring, and waste a lot of feed. Dropping the bale from 10 feet up and kicking it forward, end over end or unrolling it with the bale squeeze works well too without any special equipment. The pasture gets a lot of nutrient and seed this way too, and the young animals get their share of food. But again, the mud seasons here in Vermont are painful.
