Farms: FARMTALK: Kale farming in Makindu, Makueni County

Peter Juma is a farmer in Makindu, Makueni County who has been trained for 3 years on the use of technology to enhance crop production. Juma has been a farmer for 15 years and grows Kales and other vegetables on his farm and the entire Makindu area depends on his farm for the production of Kales. Although Makueni County is known to be a dry area, Peter has braved such challenges and produces up to 500kg per week. On this week’s edition of Farm Talk, our reporter Melline Myendo visited Juma’s farm and files the following story.
