Spanning a number of properties in Essex, Alprilla farm is a great example of the community around and fostered by local farming. Farmer Noah Kellerman shares his story, love for food and passion for the soil and human connections forged at the farm. Farming's demand to always work harder is one of the most rewarding and frustrating parts the job, but Noah considers it “the most fun thing I could possibly be doing.” We visited the farm on a beautiful September afternoon for a flint corn harvest party, where many gathered to harvest the grain used to make corn meal and polenta. Produced by the Northeast Organic Farming Association, Massachusetts Chapter (NOFA/Mass). Find out more about NOFA/Mass’s organic farming education and advocacy at www.nofamass.org. Funded by a generous grant from Organic Valley: www.organicvalley.coop.
