Welcome to Oklahoma for Season 8. Map can be downloaded at American Eagle Modding: http://americaneaglesmodding.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=1291 The map is 4x (51 fields)in size and is based on the farm I grew up on in western Oklahoma. The main farm is the only thing somewhat accurate--the rest (town, sellpoints, etc.) have a heavy dose of poetic license. The name “Oklahoma” comes from two Choctaw words: “okla,” which means “people,” and “humma,” which means “red,” so the state’s name means “red people.” Oklahoma is also known for its red dirt due to the high iron content, so that is the color I've chosen for the terrain. The regular dirt is more of a dry, sandy texture as that is how most of the dirt roads around our area looked. Most of the area is flat plains with some rolling hills. The largest field is 500+ acres and the smallest is about 7, so there is a nice mix of sizes and shapes of fields. I drew inspiration heavily from my favorite maps of 2013/15 including: Idaho, MAFM and Paradise. Wheat is the number one cash crop, followed by hay, corn, soybeans and rye in the top 10. Canola is rising, oats are grown more for hay, sunflowers are a small percentage and barley, potatos and sugarbeets don't even register. However, I didn't want to make the map all wheat, so each crop is represented in a balanced way to start, and then the player can decide from there.
