A plethora of conflicting environmental and land use laws, at the federal, state, and local levels, are driving farmers out of business. This program includes interviews with farmers and ranchers about the effects of overregulation on their lives and livelihoods.

Its now 2016 have things changed? I am planning on moving there next year and want to farm a small plot as well..

it would cost less to just set up filtration system that filter water source at the tap. you will fence up and floor what to I get fines because there test will come out with poop from deers and other sources. I believe eventually the cows will have to go because they want everyone to eat grass ourselves then will begin to regulate how many farts we can take a day... at the end only people with perfect body's that don't farther and don't eat will then it will satisfy the people for pushing for these laws

I thought this was a liberal state. Don't they like all that organic stuff in Portland? What the hell is up? I wanted to move to Oregon and have a large garden snd chickens. I thought they even allowed chickens in the cities like Portland was the 1st big city to allow it. What is going on here?

It's all the people in Salem and DC, they don't care about the small family farm they get their money from the big corporation farms that line their pockets and can afford all of these regulations. They forget how important the small family farm is to the community. I have been trying to find land since I got out of the military so I can have a farm and raise my kids on one and can't find one that I can afford while just starting out.
