The boys and I were getting oak logs to use for mushrooms out of the woods on the trailer. When I turned around to make sure no logs were falling off the trailer, I drove the front of the tractor into a branch next to the road. After trying to back out and using a come-along to no avail, I decided to drive down the hill and into the creek. It was a little hairy at times, though hard to tell from the video, and required taking down two fences, several small trees, and a big rock, but turned out okay. Much of the video is boring back and forth on the tractor, showing the persistence required to get out. We were quite happy in the end.

I would put ROPS on that tractor.

I think my next off road vehicle is going to be a tractor.
-

put chain on rear tire

It would be a cold day in hell before I let you borrow something of mine. With a tractor that you can't lock the rear differential you need to work the brake of the spinning tire. Transfer power to the non spinning wheel.
-
sad excuse of driving a tractor, you could of made it out the 1st time. But you tried to make it look good,it just made you look like an idiot.
-
its a 1953 or newer Ford Jubilee. it has overhead valve engine, but yet still has nut on rear axle

You're braver than I have ever been on my 2n. That old tractor scares the day lights out of me back on the mountains on our farm.

Dam I guess u guys got stuck pretty good there my pulls me out when I got stuck I got an 1939 9n ford tractor that got stuck

I had a Ferguson TO-20 which is a very similar tractor. I had a roll bar welded on by a fabricator and put a seat belt on it. They are great tractors, but it isn't hard to flip one. I scared myself several times with it. Mostly things seemed to get hairy when I took it off the fields and into the woods. Be safe.

Lower RPM and try first gear. Slow speed might give better control, less slippage on tires. There is no dif lock on that tractor. Use brakes to stop spinning. Maybe?
-
O my God, that was very hard to watch x[ poor old tractor.

You did pretty good alot of people have never even seen an old red belly ford with a possi lock diff and never will they are very high geared and have low compression. now I bet they have never pulled a load down hill with wet leaves for a road bed and seen 2 tons slide on them like an Olympic figure skater on fresh ice. Bee safe and have fun.

If you do that kind of work often, a small winch put on the nose would save you a lot of bother.
