Fairfield, Iowa: The Fairfield Farmers Market is all about healthy home-grown food, good music, friendship and a safe place for children to play. Featuring an outdoor summer and an indoor winter market, this is a great place to go for vegetables and fruits, baked goods, herbs, some organic meals cooked on the spot, handicrafts, flowers, bedding plants etc. Much of the produce is certified organic, as are some of the baked goods, and there are also gluten free and raw food prepared items. The market specializes in organic, natural (grown without pesticides or herbicides), hydroponic and Ayurvedic produce. Local organic or natural meat and free range eggs are available. Handcrafters offer homemade toothpaste, soap, bath and skin creams, handmade wooden plates, bowls and other items. Jewelry and needlecraft fashions are also available. Food vendors offer a wide range of tastes, including Ethiopian lunches, gluten free, raw, vegan, vegetarian and omnivore selections.
