Farms: EU: long distance transports of unweaned calves and lambs

More than 1.3 million of calves were transported between EU Member States in 2015 alone. Destinations are assembly centres and fattening farms in the Netherlands, Italy and Spain among other countries. Most of the calves originate from Ireland, France, Germany, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. AWF and TSB Zürich have documented calf transports in these countries over two years.
