Farms: Ep113: Greens Farms Academy Horizons Student Enrichment Program

Today we welcome Kathy Hodge and Danny Ramalho to Stream of Conscience. Kathy is the Co-Chair of Horizons Student Enrichment Program at Greens Farms Academy in Westport, CT. Danny is a Bridgeport resident and a graduate of the program where he now volunteers helping other students who are following in his footsteps. Horizons at GFA is an academic program consisting of a K-8 summer program and a weekend high school program during the regular academic year. Horizons provides enrichment and reinforcement for inner-city and low income students primarily from the Bridgeport school system. The program was started in 2000 with just 26 students in kindergarten and 1st grade, but now it helps approximately 200 students in K-12 succeed in school and achieve their dream of a college education.
