Thanks, good tips. Especially the phone electrical reducer.

Seemed like a good idea, until you got to the part of the computer fan, wiring, cell phone charger......this ain't for the simpletons. Can you swing by sometime.....lol
-
Very cool.

You can not have the thermostat wired paralel.. it would trip your circuit breakers and very likely damage your thermostat. It is in series, get it right Rick LOL
-
I'm gonna build one too. I have a brew fridge with a pretty good digital temp controller. You got me inspired! Of course I'm gonna end up with more dammed cockerels...
-
light bulb is wired in series with the thermostat, and the thermostat is mounted in the wrong direction. It monitors the temp of the case, not the ambient air. Eventually they should equalize, but more sensitivity should be obtained if you turn the thermostat around.

thanks for sharing

smart thinking!

What about turning the eggs how did you do that?
-
You didn't want to add two lamps to build in a bit of redundancy in case one blows overnight?
-
Cool for a first attempt. vent holes in the top may have worked better. yes you have to turn the eggs daily.
-
You mentioned in your video that you don't want to open the top too often because it lets out the heat. How often do you turn the eggs and don't you have to do so by opening the top? Thanks.

let the director do the next one, stage fright

Thanks! I had a hard time with it & wanted to make it easy!
-
Thank you. I thought that your specific information, especially about the wiring was extremely helpful.

they do have to be fertile! they will never hatch unless fertile...just get some eggs from a chicken farmer.
-
hey do your eggs have to be fertile for them to hatch or can you just grab the eggs an put them in the incubator
-
Thanks Annie! That was very nice of you to say! Sure makes it worth while to hear things from nice people!

...and there I was thinking 'a man after my own heart' [I hope you know that expression.. it goes along the same lines as 'Great minds] Part of the pleasure of a good project are the bargains found along the way, that are just right for the job. It takes a sort of lateral thinking when going into the store.. to find the bits you need. I loved the bit about being delighted to find the light fitting!! :)) Splendid how-to video.. Thank you.
