And soon enough there were two lazily sauntering by the side of the road. There was even opportunity for a fumbling selfie with a giraffe! There couldn't have been a better welcome to South Africa for our cover-girl, the gorgeous actor and supermodel, Diana Penty. One moment she was driving on a soul-sapping arrow-straight black-asphalt freeway, and suddenly the landscape was all bush as we entered the Phinda Private Game Reserve, in the company of lazy giraffes and thundering rhinos. Editor Travel Plus, Ritu Agarwal says the magazine will keep bringing travelogues of interesting personalities in enchanting lands for its readers. The trip to S Africa was an attempt to showcase the unique aspects if the land through the eyes of Diana Diana's 10 things to do in SA 1. A safari experience is a MUST while in Africa. I spent two nights at the Phinda Private Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal and had the most memorable times here. Kruger National Park is still on my list of places to visit. 2. If you're looking to relax while in Durban, I would recommend the Mangwanani Spa for a true African spa experience. The massages are excellent and so is the dinner! 3. The Oyster Box and Makaranga Garden Lodge are both charming places to stay while in Durban. If not your whole stay then I would recommend a meal at least at The Oyster Box and high tea at the Makaranga overlooking the lush gardens. 4. You can't visit Durban and not try it's famous Bunny Chow! This is Durban's version of street food and is quite a hit in the area. If you're a Pav Bhaji fan, you'll definitely love Bunny Chow! 5. Cape Town's beaches are spectacular, Camps Bay being the most popular. This little strip has the 12 Apostles (Mountain Range) for it's backdrop and is lined with a number of cool bars, restaurants and shops. 6. Wine Country - About an hour's drive from Cape Town lie the regions of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch which are famous for their vineyards. La Petite Ferme is my most favourite one in Franschhoek and is the perfect spot for lunch, after which you can spend the rest of the afternoon wine tasting around the area! 7. Drive down to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. Once you reach the viewing point, at the top of a rugged cliff, all you will see is boundless expanse of sea. Truly magical! 8. If you're up for some adventure, Cape Town is one of the best places in the world to skydive, especially in terms of the view! Or try a helicopter ride if you're interested in photography. This is a great way to get some stunning shots of Cape Town's coast and the Cape Peninsula from the top. 9. Another one for the adventurous, is Cage Diving with Great White Sharks in Gansbaai, about two hours from Cape Town. The best part is you don't need to be a certified diver or swimmer to get up close to these magnificent creatures. It really is a thrilling experience. 10. Robben Island for a lesson in history. This little island off the coast of Cape Town, is where Nelson Mandela spent almost 20 years of his life in prison. Unfortunately, it is still on my 'to-do' list!
