We are really pleased with the 850. If you are considering an 850c, make sure its a series II. The first series had a lot of bugs in them to work out. Occasionally we pre-rip if we have to go deeper than 4 1/2'. For instance, if you have to go really deep through a knoll to get to the other side we'll pre-rip the deepest part of the pull. Plowing in a 8" main is near the 850's limits. We pre-rip without the boot on for 6" and 8" tile. We cable up a trackhoe to the dozer to put in 8" if pulling deeper than 4'. Occasionally cable up for 6" if its muddy and deep. The quad is great for plowing tile when the conditions are fit but theyre not always fit. We ran into traction issues with the 850 as well when it was wet enough to fill up the tracks. Since welding on ice picks we can go through mud all day long. After adding on the tile reel we average 15-20 acres a day with just 2 of us. Length of your runs makes a big difference on how much you get done in a day. Our best day plowing in 4" with the 850 was a lil over 30,000 feet. That's with only my brother and I. And longer runs.

How do you like the 850 pulling the plow? Do you pre rip? Do you need a extra tractor often? I have been considering setting up an 850dozer or a quad trac

My brother and I built all the add-ons from scratch for the dozer. Everything from the tile reel, tile puller, ice picks and 3 pt. hitch. We drew up each individual piece for the hitch on paper and had them laser burnt from local fab shop. We tacked, welded, painted, plumbed and did all electrical ourselves. Took a while but it worked out pretty good for us after it was all done.
