Rice planting on the terraces of Dazhai is a giant sculpture in dynamic motion. Dazhai is a village outside Longsheng which is 4-hour bus ride north of Guilin, Guangxi, China. An over-night stay in one of the many affordable guesthouses is recommended. Dazhai is inhabited by the Hong Yao minority famous for its long-haired women. Dazhai_planting28.mp4

The farmers at Dazhai are Hong Yao minority. The Zhuang minority farm in neighboring villages of the Longsheng county in Guangxi.

Based on the clothing and location being Guangxi, the farmers are the Zhuang ethnic group planting rice...aka Tai or Thai (they are 70% mutually intelligible with people from Thailand). Well...historians attribute of the first rice cultivation to that group.
