Peace, Love, Happiness and all that groovy stuff! Ride along with us to the place it all began-the original site of the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair in upstate New York! We're workin' on a groovy thing here! As usual, we begin in Baltimore, then head for the sacred ground-Max Yasgur's Farm! We'll pass localities like Bel Air MD, Lancaster, Reading, Sinking Spring, Kutztown, Allentown and Stroudsburg PA, and Port Jervis and Monticello NY before finally arriving at our groovy destination! The Bethel NY area has undergone some changes since the 1969 concert (most of which since my last visits in 1994 and 96). There's now a Center for the Arts on part of the concert site, along with a hippie museum. Despite my hippie heritage, I kinda have mixed feelings on this. Up until the late 90s one could visit the site in relative PEACE; now, with all the "improvements," there's an influx of omnipresent tourists. The WM Scenic RY and C&O Canal (two more of my all-time favorite places) also fell victim to this. Still-stick around! We'll see the Woodstock Monument, Yasgur's onetime farm, and Filippini Pond-where the skinny-dipping took place! We'll also see the Port-O-Sans as were featured in the original movie! The return trip takes us over interstates 84, 81 and 83, and we see a road we saw during our Centralia trip! All things considered, these are relatively scenic interstates. So don your 60s apparel, and come along! Got groovy opening and closing segments featuring photos and classic video clips! Watch for the hippies! And, as they say, GIMMIE AN F...! You know how that one ends. PEACE. From yer' bullfrog. Dedicated to Max Yasgur, Richie Havens, and all who were there in 1969 and 94. P.S. Also be sure to check out the other Woodstock-related clips on my channel! Got clips from the 1994 25th Anniversary Reunion with Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul & Mary fame), Mountain and Richie Havens-with more to come!
