It's nice they don't want to factory farm them, but I still don't want to eat ducks or chickens.

People are saying it's cruel to kill to eat... Stop eating then. Then you'll never kill anything.... oh wait, you will still inadvertently kill things. The plants are alive, the animals are alive. Everything is alive. By living you are killing, and whether you were living or not, things would still die. The important thing is to be conscious and take care of what you must take to survive, as well as always give back.

What a stupid TEDx, supporting abuses, gluttony and luxury in a world of violence, sickness and inequality
-
"Harvest" the geese. What a terrible euphemism.
-
A humane way to produce foie gras?!?!??! REALLY!!!!!?!?!??!?!? A humane way to torture and kill for pleasure of a dish?!
-
"Cruelty free" he says. Isn't that nice.
- Hey goose, do you mind if I kill you and eat your liver, I find it really delicious, thanks a lot, that's very generous of you.. -

Wow some real negative people on here. Thats alright if you are on the CAFTA sites and working hard on those animals behalf. I for one will be looking to see your impact.

inspiring brand new point of view in agriculture! Listen to the nature's operating instructions. The most ecological choice of food is always the most ethical choice of food.
Farmer Ecardo is awesome! But still 99.9999% of fois gras come from inhumane way which animal suffer a lifetime physically and mentally. It's best to say no to fois gras!
To produce “foie gras” (the French term means “fatty liver”), workers ram pipes down the throats of male ducks twice each day, pumping up to 2.2 pounds of grain and fat into their stomachs, or geese three times a day, up to 4 pounds daily, in a process known as “gavage.” The force-feeding causes the birds’ livers to swell to up to 10 times their normal size. -
"The problem is it's so frickin' delicious". (The audience laughs) that's just compassion personified right there. I assume someone needs some intelligence before being allowed a Ted Talks spot. Clearly the level of compassion needed is zilch. I'm sorry you're as old as you are and still a t**t. Good luck with that.

What a stupid ignorant man.

this may true for this farmer but how many others are doing it just to make money. if the treatment of the geese were regulated to see that they were treated humanely there wouldn't be a problem. every living creature on this planet deserves humane treatment.

It is a waste of time in many ways, to talk about 'ethical' farming, because it puts the horse before the cart. There are too many people on the planet, and demand pushes farmers for new ways to meet that demand. I am not saying that there are no greedy, unethical people, we know these types have always been around; yet if today, everyone in the world had a sudden change of heart, and demanded nothing but non-GMO organic corn, it is doubtful that even after years of retooling, that the farmers could meet the demand? I would certainly like to be wrong about this, but farmers have to make a living. Organic farming takes extra work, and so, who's going to pay for the extra hands, or manure and clean water? Too many people... let's start there as well.

Mr. Eduardo Souza is a thief. I bought a huge quantity of his foie gras in 2011, paid cash and he never sent the merchandise.... 1000 excuses and no compromise even with the invoice on my hands. Now he disappeared!
-
Seriously??? Is this inhumane guy promoting abuse? By saying it's 'humane' doesn't make it so... no one is fooled by his argument. Just to appease his taste for something he's actually condoning the cruelty inflicted on a sentient being. It's as good as condoning rape so that one can appease one's control over another being.
-
There is no humane way to confine and kill a sentient being for palate pleasure. This talk is pure stupidity.
-
Why does this talented chef, talking about an interesting idea, constantly use the word "like" practically every sentence?
He talks like a 16 yr. old Valley Girl. -
Foei grass is an abomination
-
The slaughter of animals is never, ever humane. This may be better than the "traditional" way but it still isn't right.

A new low -Foi gras salesman
