Farms: Dairy farmers register dwindling returns despite growth of sector

Dairy farmers in Kenya pocket almost 40 shillings per litre of milk, now that sounds like good returns but not before you compare the amount of milk a Kenyan farmer produces vis a vis other countries in the region. According to the Kenya Dairy Board the country produces approximately 3.2 billion litres of milk from cows which is way below what other countries like South Africa produce despite having fewer heads of cattle
