In late 2007, Chehalis, Washington experienced one of the worst flooding disasters in Washington state history. The entire community, including local dairy farmers, were hit hard.The flood destroyed homes, equipment, and feed. Cows and other elements of production were swept away by the flooding Chehalis river. Local farmers were devastated, but the community stepped in to help recover what was lost. Various local organizations, including the Washington State Dairy Federation, set up donation programs to rebuild farms, and lives.
