What a neat, old house. That's the way our W W 2 parents looked in the 1970's. They would have been in their mid-40's. I was 21 in 1970.
-
Woodrow Parfrey looks much younger than his 49 years in this movie. At 13:48, he almost looks like Jim Hutton.
-
Hope Lange was cute.

Ah... the days of the "Welcome Wagon". Folks used to actually do this type of thing when you moved into a neighborhood. Back when neighbors really knew each other ;) Funny line... "the witch equivalent of a Bridge Club" Hope's patchwork skirt at the party is pretty. Hope Lange is very appealing in this role.

The gas tank must have been on the FRONT of the car for it to blow up like that - ha ha!

I have a very strong connection to this film, and the story.
-
Does EVERY 70's TV movie begin with a car crash? (Seems like it.)
-
1960 Chrysler Saratoga and 1963 Rambler 770 wagon.

Thank you, TVTerrorLand. I love how the subject of reincarnation and karma are dealt with in this film. Makes you wonder if you really can sacrifice another's soul.
-
I have been searching for this movie for 40 years....saw it at the drive in when I was little and all I could remember was the board and rocks and a fire with little people in it lol. Thanks for posting it!!

A good old-fashioned TV thriller, like Something Evil and The House that Wouldn't Die.
-
This is a classic movie
-
PS- Although not quite as scary as when I was a kid, I still got chills on my arms when I heard the eerie opening music in the beginning!
-
Me and the girl next door watched this back in the 1970's on TV and a few days later we saw an old lady who lived around the block wearing one of those bonnets in her backyard and we ran home screaming. I couldn't sleep for days thinking she was a witch and was going to capture us and pile stones on us to crush us both to death for knowing her "secret".

Do you remember when the movie of the week was always scary on Tuesday nights?

Can we just say something about how well Cindy Eilbacher acted in her roll? She was a marvelous little actress. I believe she was only 11 years old while filming this. She had just the right combination of creepy intelligence in a preteen. Both inappropriately alluring and completely innocent at the same time.
