Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Creepy-Places-of-New-England-137391732977397/ Website: http://creepyplaces.webs.com/ On this Halloween Episode, Charles, Cynthia, and Stephen join up with the Investigators of the Unknown to explore Fort Wetherill, an abandoned coastal artillery fort Jamestown, Rhode Island. The present fort was built upon an older earthwork fortification called Fort Dumpling. In 1799, a new permanent fortification was built and in 1899, Fort Dumpling was destroyed to make way for a more modern base. It earned its name, Fort Wetherill, in honor of Captain Alexander Macomb Wetherill, who died on July 1, 1898 at the Battle of San Juan Hill. German POWS were trained and indoctrinated in the democratic way of life in the spring of 1945. In 1946, the fort went into caretaker status, but was eventually abandoned. On August 16, 1972, the fort was acquired by the state of Rhode Island and was dedicated a state park that same day. Paranormal activity has been reported here, including claims of a phantom black dog. Footsteps are also heard in the tunnels, along with voices of British and German soldiers. Others claim there's demonic activity due to satanic ceremonies. The only strange thing that I have seem there was a tall grey figure. I have seen it a few times.

Charles at the start you reminded me of Ralph Richardson when he played the crypt keeper. I loved to pop-up horror segments, nice addition. I hope your feet dried out and didn't smell of urine for too long, ha ha

Happy (belated) Halloween to you as well! You always seem to find some fantastic locations rich with history... another great video, my friend!
-
I'm guessing that a grunge group named Clue taped a music video on this location...Do hope that The Great Pumpkin rises in your super sincere creepy punkin patch and drops a box of LED flashlights on belt straps, a first-aid kit, and gift certificates for tetanus shots into your treat bags.
