Supervisor Peter Schwartz had a duty to recuse himself from any decision making regarding this property because Schwartz was on the executive Board of Directors of the Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC) and even worked on the actual drafting of the agricultural easement on the farm. This elected official is an example of gross corruption that involved colluding and conspiring to force family farmers off of their land. He used his power on the board of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and engaged in an abusive immoral scheme that included a 501(c)3 non-profit and realtors. This is a disgrace to all Americans and makes a mockery of real conservation. This scam of bait & switch land grabbing is a black eye for all conservation and demonstrates a corrupt abusive system that robs tax payers of millions of dollars a year o fund cronyism. Turns out the realtors ended up putting in a cell tower on significant historic, conservation and civil war study area in the same vicinity of the water source of an entire village. This calls in to question the very validity of any historic or conservation on any o these lands. It also makes conservation in this region lose all credibility.
