ohh my god i have a soviet farm in the frontgarden. im growing salad to. looks like the american farms at the moment !!

@ripperduck to contamination caused in part by industrial farming practices here in the US. None of that would have happened if USAAmericans were more involved in growing their own food, rather than expecting some large corp to feed us. Having lived in Eugene there is a strong movement to create local farms and food independence.

The gov has always been involved in farming, from water subsidies to Corps of Engineers projects, to crop buybacks, etc. To get your back hair up because we have some local gov giving some land to grow food is totally misplaced. Maybe people who check out how much top soil has been ruined by modern ag practices, which have been buttressed by our fed supporting large corp farms, to get some context of how bad the food situation is here. By the way, we've had eggs and meat recalls in the US due..

In Soviet Amerika, gov't farms you

@valhala56 I think it is plan of the plan. If that whole global warming crap goes through, we are going to experience a large transfer of wealth and we will be like a 3rd world country.
-
Hope they are using Non-GMO seeds. Probably not if the Gov't is in charge of the program.
-
Erin what are u doing other than complainig and jaw jacking, are u doing anything to promote jobs employment, abundance like me!!!
-
Has the government ever read the US constitution ? They should read it and see the penalties spelt out for treason ? They should really start reading the "rule of law". You better wake up USA - too much damage has been done to your society.
-
gov't intervention in the dust bowl was responsible for a new way to till to prevent further degradation. corporate farming is the problem.
-
@valhala56 LOL, when governments move towards tyranny, they always go for more and more control. When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1990, they had to almost instantly switch to Free Market farming in order to ensure there would be enough food to feed people so that they wouldn't revolt. A collapse in the US dollar will destroy government control over our food policies quickly, so I keep gardening whether they like it or not. You're right, we're totally USSA today.
-
Our farm policies are a nightmare, we have the potential for a severe collapse in our industrial agriculture complex that could lead to millions of Americans starving to death. The 'Honey Bee Colony Collapse" is actually "Industrial Agriculture Collapse". We're seeing now a come back of black market farming, the unemployed are learning that food sells even in this economy.

@valhala56 Thanks Val

Kinda of ironic that Russia has become Free Market and the USA is adopting more and more socialism. Like the ideaology has literaly switched. Ironic.

Great report, very informative. I have never actualy even seen pictures of Soviet era Farm. I think this is great that you are uploading these videos so that people can see trends. I see these American style collective farming as growing. I see more good then bad but I know the downside of the Soviet era Collective farm-centralized planning ect. Good report dude.
