The video was produced as a part of the Pilot Programme for Climate Resilience - Jamaica Public Awareness Campaign. The project is being financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) through funds from the Climate Invetment Funds (CIF). The objectives of the PPCR include: • piloting and demonstrating approaches for integration of climate risk and resilience into development policies and planning; • strengthening capacities at national levels to integrate climate resilience into development planning; • scaling-up and leveraging climate resilient investment, building on other on-going initiatives; and • enabling learning-by-doing and sharing of lessons at country, regional and global levels. The video focuses on the plight of Jamaican farmers as they adapt to the changing climate and the implications that these changes have for food security and livelihoods. It also features a number of short interviews with farmers in the Bog Hole community in Clarendon and representatives from key stakeholder agencies including the Ministry of Water, Land, Environment, and Climate Change, the PIOJ and the IDB. It also focuses on how the achievements under Phase 1 and the planned activities under Phase II of the Programme will improve climate change resilience at the national level.. Two versions of the video was produced -- a 5 minute version tailored for viewing on the internet and a longer version tailored for television viewing. The video was produced with the kind collaboration of the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ), the Jamaica Information Service (JIS), Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA), IDB,and the Ministry of Water, Land, Environment and Climate Change
