This video provides an overview of the cleanup of an abandoned hog waste lagoon located on a tract of land in Granville County, North Carolina. The property, known as the "Haynes Tract", was acquired by Tar River Land Conservancy in 2014. The hog operation ceased many years ago but the buildings and hog waste lagoon remained onsite. After Tar River Land Conservancy purchased the property, work began to clean up the lagoon and remove the buildings. This cleanup will help protect the drinking water and wildlife habitat provided by Falls Lake, which is located just one mile downstream of the Haynes Tract. In addition to this video, Tar River Land Conservancy has published two time lapse videos of the cleanup operations. These time lapse videos can also be viewed on Tar River Land Conservancy's YouTube channel.
