Farms: Chunx just doesn't understand the GOP, nor it's followers. What's Sun got to do with it?

I really feel like I live on another planet, but not Kolob. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=457838654247649&set=a.239510576080459.62931.109062745791910&type=1&theater They'd rather see oil derrick, fracking wells, and BP styled disasters than wind farms and solar panels. They'll even make up lies to support it. I hope you can drink oil and gas, because if you get your way, it'll be coming out of your faucets. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=390275431038966&set=a.374536155946227.83663.374534062613103&type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/peaksolar https://www.facebook.com/FuelMeGreen

Good luck to you. I am forced to start my own business as well, as no one is retiring because of the economy, and there is no improvement to infrastructure. I'm just waiting for a corporation to buy my small business and put me out of business, lol. Just like Wal-Mart. Thanx for your comment.

I am feeling more and more that it is my calling. I really have a passion for environmental issues, and a desire to see people live freely without the threat of harm from corporations. It appears as though the people don't want to be free, they want someone to lead them into the slaughterhouse, with an xbox and a big screen tv showing Jersey Shore, American Idiot, and America's Got Problems. Big Brother is not only watching, he's programming the content.

Your Calinesque critique has a great deal of truth to it. calling the American people unAmerican is a great way to establish doublethink. I do feel very alone though, and that is scary as well.

I honestly believe Romney would hand the phone to Ryan, and say, "You deal with it."

I just bought the Sun on ebay. I'm getting the certificate of authenticity emailed, and then we'll see some change around here. I want you to be my minister of outreach, since you get along so well with people, and speak their language.

The sheer fact he is getting his information from Fox, and too lazy to research himself speaks volumes about his quest for truth. His whole family has written him off because he espouses these views, and is constantly upsetting everyone. It's not as if we don't listen; we do. It's just that his position reflects that of an angry, overweight, single, selfish, unemployed, angry, frustrated, ignorant white male. To quote Gene Wilder in Blazing Saddles, "The salt of the earth. You know, morons."

If it makes you feel any better, my sis-in-law is a Repub and she votes for whom ever is on the list she gets in the mail from one of those Christian groups. Drove us nuts, but it's her right. I think some folks are changing their minds because they simply do. Not everyone is certain about who they trust. And that is what it boils down to. Who do you trust. During the day running the country and at night, the well known 3 am emergency call question: Who do you want answering the phone?

I have a bad feeling someone will claim to own the Sun in my life time. The Sun, sunlight anyway a spin doctor can spin the ownership.

He does know that the 90% of the earth's crust contains silicon right? The Sahara Desert is a huge vast expanse of sand that is almost entirely composed of silicon dioxide. Its not like we're going to run out of sand any time soon.
-
Right on, brother.

I wrote something to that effect in my comment back to him on facebook. Not to mention I was on the team that built a solar home that competed in DC, and we had a closet for the batteries, and the house was less than 1000 sqft. We even had a grey water system. I was in charge of environmental concerns. He does not know who he's dealing with.

I thought he did, he mentioned mining it, but left out that it is one of the most prevalent elements on Earth, and could also be obtained through recycling. The man also lived near the beach here in Florida. Not that he spent much time there. It's pretty sad, isn't it?

I wonder who was behind making it unreasonable to create jobs there? LOL

VOTE! Abso-goddamn-lutely! On election day in 2008, one thing happened that really ticked me off. I saw several people spend about 30 seconds in the voting booth. In other words, they ticked the Obama box, signed their name and left (I live in a very Democratic precinct). Down ticket elections are not just for today's state reps and mayors, they are potentially tomorrow's US congressmen and senators. If we want better, less corrupt representation, we need to start from the ground up.
-
I know how you feel, Chunx. People just stick their heads in the sand (a great source of silicon!)
-
Does the moron you are talking about understand where silicon comes from?

I recently looked into buying land in Arizona to build wind and solar generators to sell energy back to the local providers. It seemed like a good investment. I found the tariffs were so ridiculously high, I couldn't make the numbers work.
