Life in the colonies varies as you traveled from region to region. New England farming was far less profitable than it was in the Middle and Southern Colonies. Therefore they sought out other ways to profit by using the resources around them. The Middle Colonies grew cash crops and the Southern Colonies developed into plantations where large scale farming was done.
