Farms: Building a Small Log Chicken House - The Farm Hand's Companion Show, ep 10
Productivity | Information | History | View | Quality
Pa Mac quickly builds a small log chicken house from materials on hand. But this episode to speaks to something just a tad deeper than extra room for a few chickens: That inner conflict of perfectionism that sometimes affects people in varying degrees. Watch the show and—if you’ve got an extra minute—leave a comment elaborating on what you think he's trying to say. Be sure and subscribe to the Farm Hand's Companion channel to keep up with the progress as Pa Mac takes an undeveloped piece of property and turns it into a small subsistence farm. Watch for new episodes as often as Pa Mac can crank 'em out and still run a farm. (As long as he's alive and kicking, he's most assuredly farming and filming!) Also visit http://www.farmhandscompanion.com to find articles, posts, photographs, and encouragement for today's self-sufficient farm or homestead.

which took longer, the chicken coop or the video?

What did you use for nest ? Can you reach the nesting box from outside ? What did you use to make the door to secure them at night ? Will you be mudding the cracks in the future to 'winterize' the chicken coop ? Inquiring minds want to know...the rest of the story :-)

love how you built such a gorgeous coop by creatively re cycling and resourcing all the materials lying around that still had use left in them, brilliant! Love the creative way you shared this with us too!

Great videos. Came to your channel looking for ways to build a cabin and now I'm hooked. I have one question: Won't the structure slip off the foundation? Those rocks looked very irregular and I din't see you anchor the bottom beams to the rocks in any way. Thank you.

Pa Mac, I miss your videos. I know that your life has become busy with the necessities that are required in making a living, but that period of time when you were making cool videos about how to make it in life with just an acre or two and some tools is surely missed by me. Of all the "homestead" videos, yours are the best - and yet we have never heard you utter a word - LOL. God bless you man. I hope that you are well. -JF

If the bottom stays open then snakes 'n coons and such can get in and kill your chickens ! So , then you close it up and you've got chick crap stickin the place up .

How do you make the bottom logs (floor logs) even. How do you make them not rise one above the other when they're squared? Because one log sits on top of the other.
