Thanks for the help!

Great design, and great tutorial. Works like a charm. Edit: After AFKing over night I came back and found an iron golem wandering around the circle outside the houses, where the villagers are. Any idea what I did wrong?

A while ago I built this excellent golem farm, awesome video btw, but despite using several villagers (all converted zombies) they won't breed, I've tried tading, putting in several types of villagers but there's no response, any ideas anyone might have?

Hey, never thought of disguising my factories like that, your mining town is amazing ! Gives me a lot of ideas. Thanks !

Thank you for the response. Did some more problem solving...
First, the village appears to be constructed accurately in terms of dimensions, doors, and many villagers having been bred from the initial population of 2.
Loaded my game back up and found a single stray golem walking about that must have just spawned, but outside the trap. Killed him and 3 successfully spawned inside the trap. Then...no more spawns.
I dug under the trap 7+ down so that now there is a cavern under the trap, but lower than they should be able to spawn - so I'm thinking this is ok to keep. Also spot tested around for any open spaces outside the trap and haven't found any.
There are no other doors in the vicinity. The only other thing I can think of is that I have a gold farm (portals for zombie pigmen) nearby. But not sure why that would matter.
Frustrating. Any other thoughts / recommendations would be greatly appreciated. -
Just built this, was excellent tutorial. However, nothing is spawning despite the requisite villagers being present. Playing on XBox One. Any ideas?

This really is incredible, I haven't ever thought to disguise my iron golem farms! and if by chance you still have the world download to that last mining town, I would be incredibly happy if you would be able to share the download! thanx and keep up the amazing content!!!

I've been trying to make "fake villages" like these to act as an iron golem farm for a while but I find that golems will often spawn outside of the pool area, sometimes even in the houses themselves. Any tips on how to avoid that?

Ignore the profile picture.... Though I like your videos, they are very cunning, clever, original, and creative unlike most minecraft youtubers that i've seen. There are very few minecraft youtubers who create original content and I think your videos are just as unique as MumboJumbo, or EthosLab, etc.
Keep em' coming ;D would love to see more videos -
Okay I built it in the Desert Temple. Noticed something though. The Golem spawning area couldn't be more than two blocks down or else nothing spawned. Adjusted the edges so I could run the water a block higher. It may have something to do with the "village center" Because there is a nearby village and sometimes he spawns to the southmost doors. Don't really know. But it's really fun to troubleshoot. Going to try and knock off all the doors in town and see if that changes anything.

Really great tut! By far the best one to incorporate into survival play. I'm trying to convert a Desert Temple into an Iron Factory. The temple had spawned adjacent to a village.
