BP Wind Energy built its 1,000th wind turbine in the US in February 2012. The Sherbino 2 Wind Farm is located in Pecos County, Texas, where the strongest winds in the country blow through this rural central corridor. So the vast ranches and farms of Texas are ideal for capturing this renewable power source. Landowner D.A. Harral is proud of his wind farm. "Texas's history used to be about cattle. How much does it cost to manufacture one wind turbine and install it, aside from the cost of leasing/purchasing the land? What is the anticipated lifespan of a wind turbine?
