In which Matt and Hatter pit two great classics against each other to determine which is better.

Matt, I don't blame you for saying Ewells wrong, I do it, my teacher does it, my classmates does it. If you got that from the movie then I believe the movie was wrong.
-
I heartily disagree with your opinion the the movie supporting characters are done better, I just reread the book and I just feel that the more important supporting characters are done better in the book
-
Wait, have you done Inkheart?! I saw it on the video but... If you haven't, you should! Its an amazing book and a decent film! :)
-
Sorry to pop up again, but do you think it would have been better if Atticus Finch had been given a round of his own?
-
Also I didn't envy you trying to pick between the movie and the book as both were absolute classics.
-
Whoever cast Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch deserves an award, perfect choice.
-
Alright, that's fine. If you do plan on reviewing The Help can you send me a message?
-
I have not read nor seen The Help yet, but I would like to do both. Whether I do a review depends on my experiences with those.
-
Do you ever plan on doing one of these for The Help? I couldn't help but ask since these books and movies are thematically similar.
-
You should do one for Mary Poppins. :)

I know that she wasn't experienced & was young, but I also can't say she didn't make some mistakes in acting because she did. However, I didn't write she was bad at all (she made a decent job IMO), but your attitude is like I would. Maybe you like the film too much to see any cons, even the little ones? They say there aren't any perfect films out there. The overall acting of the cast was very good & the casting director did an excellent job. The highlight was obviously the court scene.

Thanks for the reply. Although Idon't agree with the rest of your comment after Brock Peters. Ms. Badham did not have as much experience as Phillip, but having seen the film so many times, IMO, it's a brilliant instinctive job. She was way too young to have a craft at her disposal. IMO the whole cast was brilliant as was the story. But aside from knowledge about the actual craft of acting, it is really all opinion in the end. What feels right & true for you, is what's right 4 u n visa versa. : )

Yes, Brock Peters was really great and deserved an Oscar. In my opinion, Mary Badham's performance wasn't as good as many people think. Sometimes she was smiling, but she supposed to act differently. This was clearly seen when she ran home after the incident with Ewell. Phillip Alford was better, but he was also older than she. I also like Collin Wilcox Paxton's performance, but she overacted a bit when she screamed hysterically.

do fight club !
-
Not yet, but I have plans to both read the book and watch the movie. =)
-
Have you done a Books vs. Movies Review of The Godfather? If you haven't then you should. Both the book and movie are really good
-
Interesting factoid for you: both child actors had never acted before. the film makers wanting real kids from Alabama and not professional child actors
-
im reading this book and watching this movie at skills class at my school
-
I love this book and movie to death,I agree Gregory Peck was incredible as Atticus. Atticus is my book hero,he means so much to me and I love Gregory so,both coming together was just flawless.

Overall I enjoyed the three part review and comparisons of the book and film. The one comment I would add is that I felt that Brock Peters gave an amazing performance as Tom Robinson-- equal to anyone else in the film and oscar worthy. Sadly Mr. Peters, one of those rare actors who always gave a good to fantastic performance in all the his films was overlooked for even a nomination as best supporting actor in this film, let alone an oscar. Big difference too in Tom's fate from book to film.
