In which Hatter compares Michael Ende's fantasy story to the movie from a magical location that looks remarkably like Los Angeles. Clips are from The NeverEnding Story. I loved this movie as a kid, but it took me a ridiculously long time to realize that Falkor was a dragon and not a flying golden retriever-ish creature.
-
The review would've been 100% better without the Youtube Headquarters Experience™. Because, y'know, we could've actually heard that half of the review.
-
Remind me again: are Native Americans supposed to be green with blue skin?
-
You didn't mention the Demonic Wolf. G'Mork.
-
The book is one of my top 5 favorites! I can't remember the last time I was so drawn in by the story. Truly an amazing read! ^^!
-
Fantasica, Fantasia, let's call the whole thing off!
-
The book was great, but it was too complicated and complex for young children.
-
In German, Ende is pronounced "EN-duh"
-
18:12 is this Monty Python and the Holy Grail? I was half expecting to see the British Army on a hill yelling "GET ON WITH IT!"
-
I have never read the book and have always wondered about the differences in the movie. Great video but as others have commented, it was really frustrating to listen to such great information while trying to shove out that overbearing backround noise. Despite that thankyou for the video.
-
Bastian dreams fantasia exactly how it was but makes some adictions
-
I'm really enjoying this review content wise.
But please, next time don't film outside. The background noise was really distracting... -
what is that Camelot book you have in the background on your book shelf? I enjoyed the Camelot series & merlin movie so i'd like to know please reply

Ran into your review on TNG finale....immediately subscribed...love,love love all the reviews I've seen. so far. Did not know Neverending was from an actual work....will track it down . Keep up the good work!
-
It's a shame that a of people have not heard or read the original book and are being raised by the media. I myself did'nt grow up watching the movie.
-
BTW I'm one of the few that just read the book, never seen the movie.
-
I don't know about the Phantasia/Phantastica thing, i read that book in german, but Phantasia would be the better translation. In German it's called Phantasien, it's a mixture between fantasy (Phantasie) and asia (Asien) just like Phantasia.
-
I thoroughly enjoyed that. the Movie is my favorite of all time but i also loved the difference in the book.
-
PHANTASIA! sillyhead, you said it right in the beginning and somehow managed to drift off to "fantastica" :D :D
-
I thought that in the movie (which I loved as a kid) the world was called "Fantasia" not "Fantastica"...
