you have so much trouble with that incubator thank goodness you are so handy to be able to fix things..since you built your hatcher why not try and build yourself a new incubator bet it would work a lot better that that China junk glad the strees over the bankrupt thing os over but am still praying for you health you are just wonderful with all the animals God Bless

i'v always been told not to wash the eggs i want to hatch... some internet search on the subject pretty much says the same - washing them does more damage than it helps. is there something i'm missing? love the duck videos

If the injured female mated within the last 4 or 5 days her egg could very likely be fertile. I don't know how long she has been separated from the other ducks, but if is less than 4 or 5 days it could be viable.

so i am watching the fan motor part of this video, and well, why not use a bit of super glue to level it out? mabey even glue gun glue? you can screw your screws back in after, when it's all dry, and your fan shouldn't wobble after that. Also, every time my birds hear your ducks, they go nuts, and try to call back to them, even though they are parrots.... o.O? It is cute though.
I hope this helps. -
I don't like to be critical of anyone but your not suppose to wash any eggs you are about to hatch, there is a film layer on all eggs that is a extra protection from bacteria entering the egg through the shells,if you wash the eggs you are taking away that layer of protection and if you use cold water you are letting bacteria into the egg as well, always use warm water..Also if you want to wash eggs real easy just get a egg basket, rig up some pvc with a lot of small holes to make a bubbler action, 2 psi of air hooked up ill clean all the eggs perfectly with no mess and minimal time, I made this one and it works great.https://youtu.be/pE6fgruEu2g

Disco probably landed wrong when coming off one of the roofs she likes to perch on....hope she's okay (I know I'm several days behind in watching, so I'll find out soon).
Just after the 4 minute mark when you're checking on Stripper, there's a sound in the background - a chainsaw maybe? Some sort of machine engine anyway.
Doug's foot looks awesome, you're a great pet owner, Matt! -
Thank you for the beautiful canal I'm happy to see you as possible to know the measurements of the hatchery is an urgent need?
-
Ah ok!now I understand!just really feel for that duck-she is got very strong maternity instinct and would be great if she would walk with ducklings around your yard!I hope you will try it next year, once she start sitting on a nest! Thanks Matt!

Hi Matt!My name is Alex!I am ukrainian, but live in England!I love watching your videos and the way you take care about your ducks!I'd to do the same would i have possibility, maybe in a future!I am only bit surprised why you always chase away that duck from that empty nest?I think would be nice if you put few eggs under her and let her incubate them and see what happens, because anyway she don't lay anymore eggs and also no other ducks laying eggs into that nest!wouldn't it be great if she gonna have her own ducklings?

Matt, when we stress for prolonged time, our body fills up with toxins that did not have a chance to be eliminated. When you suddenly stop stressing, your body may go into detox, which can make you fell like crap for a while. Some people even get sick with colds or flues and such. Nothing to be concerned about, just go on cooperating with nature, eat well, supplement if need be for a few days, especially vitC; get as much sleep as possible... and in a few days you'll be back to normal.

Think the ducks are very much awake
-
Your MacGyver skills are spot on Matt!!!

I like they'd videos I also have many ducks over 100 now, any tips?

To decrease noise and vibration of the incubator, you may apply some duck fat or petroleum jelly around the central axis of the motor and the pullies of your incubator. Any natural lubricants that helps to smoothen operation and reduce friction without fouling up the atmosphere and ventilation inside the machine. A slight pulse may be beneficial when it reminds the prospective duckling in the egg of a mother's heart beat and it may be conducive to natural development...However, the coarse vibrations and shakings are what stir and mess up the yolk development and also leading to turning and shaking of the eggs. Imagine having to develop and grow when the environment that seems to be under the constant noise and havoc of pneumatic drilling, no baby could ever grow under such circumstances. Moreover, the causing of twisting of umbilical cords and vessels, all these factors then will be leading to later congenital defects in the livestock and more garbarator waste material.
