I also use Symbol of Avarice (The mimic helmet) and Coveted Silver Serpent Ring. Combined provide 44% more souls per kill according to http://darksoulswiki.wikispaces.com/Soul+Farming This is the first playthrough on this character. New Game+ will award much more souls than you are seeing in this video but with this method one could easily obtain 500,000 or so souls per half hour of farming (give or take; I didn't actually do the math but you can see how fast it goes in the video) In this video I am using Chaos Storm but you can do this with any spell that has decent AoE damage. I started farming these guys using Crystal Magic Weapon on my +15 Uchigatana. You should circle strafe around them to keep them bunched up and to keep moving so you dodge their melee and ranged attacks. Swing as you find openings while circling and keep moving. Once you get enough souls, get a pyromancer's flame and upgrade/ascend it to make this go much faster.

I like the picasas better, you get a lot of humanity drops too. They are super easy to kill if you have a good fireball. You can run passed the snakes and ice warriors with light armor or a ring of fog and get back up to the bonfire with the flute. they are worth 800 base and there are 10 all grouped together. Then throw on overkill (easy with ascended pyro, and symbol of avarice, silver ring of averice and you are well over 10,000 even after the cost of the flute.

it takes way to long dawg
-
I myself pvp for souls lol
-
nah man that will take ages
-
Could you do this with poison mist so they die as you are running back to the bonfire?

Personally i like to upgrade as many weapons as i can on first playthrough, then get levels/ sorceries/pyromancies. I find it more efficient in a way. But that's just me.

This takes many items and a specific armor/spells to do effectively... If you're at this point, you probably don't need the souls for anything in first play through and like Mrraffo89 said, it's probably best to go to NG+ and farm the forest

Just a friendly tip for anyone watching the video: Just rush to new game+, go to forest and farm the NPCs/invaders..i can easily farm 2'000'000+ souls a day just by killing the 4 NPCs and doing PVPs.
