FYI Baer, regarding the curio that gives the human slaying potion, it's actually pretty good. If you look at the Swine enemies, most are Human/Beast, so they get effect from it, and many of the guys in the Weald (Fungal Scratchers) are also Eldritch/Human.

I don't think you've noticed this yet Baer, but (non skeletal) corpses use the self heal/mark when they're in the back 2 ranks, and use their special ability (blight/bleed/disease) when they're in the front 2 ranks. Skeletal corpses, of course, revive at the end of every turn no matter where they are. So don't worry so much about clearing back row corpses
