Somebody else's home movies...... But I feel like I know them and their neighbors. This one hits home. I can't get this time and place out of my soul. I was little when this was filmed. These people are like my people. My mom was from S. MN, where I was born until I was 9. 4 siblings, we had 152 acres. Just some chickens, crops, huge garden, work, real food from scratch. Then it ended with an auction in 1962. I miss it. We had to move to Pittsburgh, where my dad was from. (This guy has taken some movies of street cars there, about time we were there). Parents had met after the war and college in Cleveland, where we ended, a sprawling suburb. City boy tried to be a farmer. It was traumatic for me to leave the farm to the city. I wish there was more info on this channel, not sure if I am doing these in order. I watched the Pillars of Smoke one first accidently. The filmmaker had an unusual talent. He's a pretty good story teller. He could see things ending and set out to capture them. Wonder if the farmer in these went broke, like my parents did, or someone died, no one to carry on? I don't get the connection to Jenner if it's Dice Farm?...... We were never the same. It broke my Dad.
