Anne Mosness, former Alaska fisherwoman, president of the Women's Maritime Association, a Food and Society Policy Fellow and co-producer of the Bluefestival, speaking at Fairhaven College on April 21, 2010. Anne Mosness explores the impacts of industrial production of fish, shrimp and shellfish on coastal ecologies, communities and economies. Similarities to factory farms on land should increase our concerns, yet too often, politicians embrace corporations that are replacing small and sustainable family businesses.

this video casts out a inaccurate shadow over the US aquaculture industry as a whole. Not all aquaculture is as bad as you make it out to be. There are continuous improvements being made and many of those in the industry are moving in a highly positive and beneficial direction to meet human demands while focusing on relieving the stress and impact on the marine environment.
